Our Mission

Based in Washington DC, SaveSolar specialize in originating, financing and developing community solar projects. We fully-finance the system cost and increase the revenue of site owners via rooftop lease payments. The clean solar energy we generate is provided at a discount to residential, low-income and community subscribers. Our mission is to help the nation reach its renewable energy goals and to lower the cost of electricity.

How Does Community Solar Work?

SaveSolar develops community solar systems in order to offer discounted energy to all D.C. residents (including renters) but also those in apartments, homes, low-income housing or community residents who may not be able to install solar on their own roofs due to affordability or tree cover.

We achieve this by leasing building rooftops, developing solar assets and compensating owners for the rooftop lease in order to deliver energy to the utility.
